This is the face of a girl who gets what she wants:
Oh hey! Watch me do this! Watch me! Watch me! WATCH ME!
Sure, she seems innocent and adorable. And she will play by herself just fine, as long as you are looking at her.
But if you happen to look away?
You just made the BIGGEST mistake of your LIFE. My disdain for you is epic.
Then she goes through a carefully thought-out process to get your attention:
1. she fake cries,
2. she laughs, then sticks out her lower lip when you look at her,
3. she grunts or shrieks, then laughs when you come into her eye line,
4. or, if you are her daddy, she will toss her toys away, then look expectantly at you.
And if you still have the NERVE to not give her your undying attention?
She brings out the big guns:
Even inanimate objects aren’t safe:
WHY DON’T YOU FIT IN MY MOUTH! LASER BEAM EYES!!
So you give in, and you make eye contact, and you see this:
so you buy her a pony, a segway, and a harp-playing monkey, and you hope she someday learns to use her powers for good and not evil.
Cinthia says:
Soooo cute!
edenland says:
Vampire baby photo freaked me out BAD. She’s still adorable though, fangs’n’all.
How much is a segway going for these days?
xo
Alice says:
Haha. She’s going to be such a heartbreaker!
Emily Bilbrey says:
Hahaha! Love her. So intensely beautiful! And the fake-crying? We know that well around these parts. Ours fake-coughs too. Heh! So silly. ;D
Heather - Notes From Lapland says:
‘hope she someday learns to use her powers for good and not evil.’
ha ha ha ha, yeah, good luck with that.
Katrina says:
Ahhh….she’s so cute, even with fangs.
Marti from Michigan says:
Awwww, such a sweetie girl! Keep it up Annabel, you’re on the right track!
Girls Rule and Boys Drool….don’t forget that!
Melissa says:
Lovin the Cullen look!
Jackie S. says:
LOVE her!! Wow, both your girls are so photogenic. Annabel’s cuteness even shines through her devil pic!
AmazingGreis says:
The fang picture was a little creepy!! Even with fangs she’s absolutely adorable!
Krissa says:
Awesome!
Sue says:
So, so gorgeous,,,,, even with all of the added extras!!!!
Natalie @ Hope Springs Eternal says:
I just snorted so hard laughing at that picture, I hurt myself.
Rebecca says:
Sooo funny! And she’s adorable.
But just be thankful she does have a good side! My niece was aptly nicknamed the “Little Monster” and would have fit very well with the horned baby and laser eye pictures. I’m being completely honest when I say she cried or was fussy 80% of her first year. It was not fun.
g~ says:
Laser beam eyes must be hard to accomplish over so much adorable cheek chub.
karen says:
I know someone who heard her 2 yr old crying in the parents room. Then it stopped, then started. So Mummy crept towards the door and peeped through the crack between the door and frame.
The little ‘angel’ was crying in front of the mirror to see what she looked like and trying to perfect the effect for her unwitting parents.
That’s what you have to come!
Valerie says:
Great story!!! Cute little devil!!!
Lindsay says:
Haha! Too funny!
Lynn from For Love or Funny says:
I like the drool trail on Annie’s shirt. A-teething we will go…
Amanda says:
Oh, man, that first picture is steeped in, “C’mon, I swear, this’ll be the most fun you can have. Join me, you won’t regret it!”
And your photoshopping skilz? Amazing!
Sarah P says:
I love it! Her face gives every thought away.
The disdain indeed is epic.
Heather says:
My daughter is now 6, and after years of us hoping she will use those powers for good and not evil… we’re still waiting.
She persuaded a 6’7 burly biker to stop smoking at a friends BBQ by turning on her sad face and asking him why he was polluting her air and trying to make her family sick with cancer. That was 2 years ago at age 4.
She turns on the sad face in stores and makes random store keepers hand her candy without even asking for it.
I have TOLD people “don’t be tricked, she can turn that one and off!” and then I ask her to make the saddest face ever and the STILL go “awwwww omgoodness, you poor thing!” All I can say is, best o’ luck
Tia says:
Is it just me or do you think Annie is like really smart for her age? She is clearly acting like a ten month old. And oh my, who could say no to that face!
freckleonthenose says:
If she’s got this mastered by six months, I’d say she’s pretty much a genius.
I feel a compelling urge to say, “You go, girl!”
Lisa says:
Too cute Looks like she got it all mastered already.
Amy says:
Hee hee! I swear I heard the angels and harps and stuff when I looked at that last shot.
Java says:
omg….she is so darn adorable! Love your photoshop skils!!
Jen L. says:
Adorable!
Amanda says:
I would give her anything she wanted! My almost seven month old (Drew, her Atlanta boyfriend) figured out that he could get my attention by fake coughing before he was even five months old. He still does it all the time and I’m terrified that he’s going to really be sick but I’ll just ignore it because I’ll assume he’s faking.
Elizabeth says:
Ohhh sooo cute!!
Kim says:
I think one of my favorite parts of the Annabel posts is Libby’s reaction to them. This morning it went something like this,
“Mom! Baby!”
“Yep, that’s Annabel”
“Tute Anbel, Siwy Anbel. Mom, Anbel siwy”
I LOVE IT!!!!
The Suburban Housewife says:
How can you say no to a face like that!
It is amazing how they can figure out how to get our attention so early on.
mel says:
I am in love with that 2nd pic.
Mary @ Holy Mackerel says:
I have two of those…unfortunately, they’re now 12 and 15…
Nick says:
seriously, such a cute, cute, CUTE girl-it’s ridiculous. Every picture you ever post I think that every time.
Wendy says:
Love the graphics! She is so adorable!!!
Michelle says:
Cracked me up!!!
Snickrsnack Katie says:
The fang pic made me cringe! Those eyes! SKEEERY!
Kellee says:
LOL – thank you for the very first thing in the morning giggles. Those edited pictures are hilarious. She’s adorable.
Gale @ Ten Dollar Thoughts says:
Oooh, oooh. Pick me! I would like a segway too, please!! Pretty please? With sugar on top? … Oh wait, you’re not my mom and I’m not an adorable baby. I guess I’ll have to find my own segway. Stupid adulthood…
Ashley says:
Well it’s a good thing she’s impossibly cute! My girls were both just sitting on my knee looking at the pictures and my oldest couldn’t figure out why you decided to draw on here. I had to explain, twice, that you only drew on the picture, not on the real Annabel
Nicole says:
Too cute!! My son would do the fake cough too, and I would fall for it. Then I got wise to his antics!
Judy says:
Totally an angel!!! Look at that face
Kristin says:
Totally cute…even in vampire mode.
Amber McN says:
Aww… even her devil face is skwishy-adorable.
Kristin says:
OMG that was one of the funniest posts. My girls were like that. It must be a girl thing, my son never did that.
Sarah says:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA these are hilarious!! The angel one is the best.
If you get a chance, what photo editing software do you use for this?
Heather says:
I used Photoshop, but that’s only because I don’t have microsoft paint on my Mac!
Sarah says:
Thanks!!
Julia says:
That baby is so dang adorable….I could NEVER look away from her.
Coming from a mama who raised her kids already and is sooo ready for grandchildren.
My own babies?? Oh, I put them in their walker/swing/playpen/bouncy chair/container and let them cry. Eventually they got used to it and watched me cook dinner/load the dishwasher/fold the laundry/pay the bills/shower/get dressed.
tammy says:
That’s my favorite line from “Fatal Attraction”!!!!!
Gee, who’da thought you and your hubby would have a kids with so much personality? Face it, it’s genetic. You’re just going to have to deal. Tough, huh?
Kiss those chubby cheeks for me, ok?
Aimee says:
I know we don’t go wayyyyyyyyyy back! But in my head we are totally cool like that. I love your photos! And that is why I tagged you over at my blog in hopes to see another fantastic pic!
amanda says:
hehehe.. too funny! I remember that age all too well.. My little zoe turns it on/off all the time.. hehe
Laney says:
These manipulative tactics will ultimately become handy when she’s dating.
Also, the second photo (and corresponding caption) still makes me laugh to myself whenever I think about it.
Rebecca says:
She and her friends are going to look at all these photos one day and have a huge laugh party….and her friends will be oh so jealous!
Elise says:
She’d have me so tightly wrapped around her finger that even without her “special powers” I’d be watching her all day anyway! She’s so stinkin’ adorable I wouldn’t want to miss a minute of her.
Joie says:
Speechless!
Laughing too hard!
Karen says:
Hmmm…you are so good at the photoshopping. Maybe you should do graphic design!
Or did you already live that life?
Anyway, even with horns, she is pre-shus!
Jen L. says:
HA! Oh, my gosh, that FACE! She’s such a sweetie. Curious–what program do you use to do fun effects on your photos?
Brittany says:
GAH! Listen, I am going to send her some toys. No, wait, does she like puppies? I’ll send that little puddin’ face some puppies. No. She’s too cute for puppies, how about a monkey. like a little one who fits in doll clothes and poops in diapers? yes, I’ll get her a monkey.
Uggghhhh. Never mind. I’ll just send her my wallet. get her whatever she wants. Ignore the weight on my license. The DMV lady is a liar.
Allison says:
Awwww, so cute! My little one is almost 9 months now and she fake sneezes too. And then she giggles when we tell her “bless you!”
Jenn says:
She’s so cute….it would be so hard NOT to give in to this little dolly!!!! I love her and I haven’t even met her yet! ha ha ha
Mary says:
About all I can say is, good luck! But as others have said, she’s so stinking cute how could anyone resist her!!
MichelleM says:
HAAAAA!!! You are so funny and she is so adorable!! My 9-month-old daughter is the same way.
Jenny says:
Wow!! The teenager years will be exciting at your house!!
Amy S. says:
LMBO!
Amanda M. says:
Ahahaha, brilliant.
Tami says:
She is soo adorable! I love her round little face.
Kayla says:
Thank you for almost making me pee myself from laughing so hard, Heather.
dysfunctional mom says:
I predict that girl will have one sweet ride in about 16 years!
Monica says:
You are such a riot! So creative! That little face would be very hard to resist, I just love her!!!!
Marianne says:
The photoshop kills me!!
Natalie @ Hope Springs Eternal says:
I just realized she was wearing a Beatles onesie!!!! Nellie has one, but it’s black, has a silhouette of a drumset and says The Beatles on it. I love the one Annabel’s wearing!
wordygirl says:
Heather, how do you have time for all this awesome photoshopping? Unless this is homework for your class, in which case YAY multi-tasking!
MommyNamedApril says:
*snort*
Mary says:
hysterical!!!!
