I had a wistful smile on my face while I was reading your post. My daughter is 17 months old and I am already looking forward to my next pregnancy. For me, pregnancy is a wonderful, amazing journey that we women are so privileged to be able to go through. This idea did falter many times during my pregnancy ;) -- especially when I got into my waddling, can't-see-my-own-feet days. But, looking back, it was all worth it! :)

Awesome belly shots!

So, not the same area/'animal', obviously, but I had staples for my broken-leg-repair; no big deal.

You can do eet! ;p

Toward the end of my pregnancy I had fantasies about swimming, too! But of course I was here in Canada, so the only way that was going to happen was if I went to a public pool. So, um, NO.

Don't panic about the staples. It truly sounds worse than it is. I've had two c-sections. My first was breach so I never even went into labor. I was sent in for my C and out she came. My second was scheduled as well now that a lot of hospitals are once a c always a c. Both were staples.

I have C-section survival tips

I didn't follow these tips the first time and I suffered.

1. Drugs. Lots and lots of drugs (legal ones). Have your husband wake you up at night to request them. Really. I think you can get them ever four hours but check. If you go to long without pain killers it H.U.R.T.S. Trust me.

2. Know when the nurses change shifts. About an hour before their shift ends they do paperwork and won't come to you unless there is a major emergency. Do you know what that means? Yep, a delay in getting your (legal) drugs. It happened to me w/ my first C and then they changed shifts and forgot and I was in agony.

3. The next day have the nurse help you get up as soon as possible. I know that sounds scary but it really helps. I didn't with my first and recovery was slow. With #2 I got up and every few hours did walking laps around the halls with the baby. It really helped. I recovered much faster the second time because I did that. Well, that, and the drugs :P Really, take whatever they will give you.

If you need anything (advice/questions answered/etc) my e-mail is henandsueatgmail.com

Good luck! :)

I was scared for my second C but I got through it. You will too!

Ah, the joys of the last month. Course, in my case, BOTH my boys decided to stay in there an extra few weeks. We had to evict them forcefully before they got into trouble. Course, I think my oldest was actually hanging out because he knew he was going to have a tought time of it once he popped into the world and people realized he had a problem.

Anyway, in a very roundabout way, I'm saying . . . Congrats on making it this far and I feel your pain/exhaustion/swolleness.And I'm not envious at all. :)

First of all, had the staples - no big deal. Once they slice you open you can't feel a thing there anyway because they cut all of the nerves.

I'm sure you feel better now. :)

Secondly, it is just GLORIOUS to see you this pregnant! When I made it past 32 weeks with Noah I was ecstatic...until I hit 36 and blew up like a balloon. Once I realized how full full-term pregnancies get, I began to try crazy things like vacuuming to get the little guy out. When I finallly had him at 38 weeks I was shocked at the tummy apron I now wore compared to my skinny jeans body after having Emma.

It was a flabby, yucky gift from God for which I'm still thankful (yet ready to give back now...it's been three years....go away already!).

Congratulations on being so very pregnant and good luck!!

Heather, you look wonderful! I can't wait until Binky is finally here!
I don't know if you've heard of this website before, but it really helped me after I had my last child. You expect everything to bounce back the way it was before you were pregnant, but for some of us, it takes a while! It's called 'The Shape of a Mother' and it is wonderful!
http://theshapeofamother.com/

I am so hopeful that everything goes as planned! Get your rest, much love to you and Mike.
