Annie’s Film Debut
I started sharing videos of Madeline on Fridays as an easy way to put up a post for the weekend. But, as Maddie grew older, Mike and I had a ton of fun putting together little movies where she was the star. I’ve re-shared our favorites over the last ten months. It’s been so hard knowing there are never going to be any new videos of Maddie.
Since we brought Annabel home, I’ve shown her a video of her sister every day. I take comfort in hearing Maddie’s voice and seeing her smile and bright eyes, and I have enjoyed sharing them with Annie. I am thankful every day that I took so many videos of Maddie – she will be more than just still pictures to her sister.
Keeping that in mind, we have taken some short videos of Annie so we can always have these early times with her at our fingertips. We know she’ll want to see them someday. Today I was giving Annie a little massage and the expression on her face was so cute, we had to capture it on video.

P.S. Please tell Mike (he asked me a weather question on facebook) it’s going to be a Balmy day here today…..a high of -3 C (26.6 F). That’s almost getting close to Spring weather for us! We were suppose to get the brutal snow storms as well however, other than the 2 to 3 cm’s of snow fall one night and the temperatures dropping to -15c (5 F) with the wind chill factor – it turned out we were actually the lucky ones as I’m afraid, our USA neighbours didn’t fare as well as we did unfortunately.

Baby toes and baby buns are meant for nibbling! When my daughter was born (almost 21 years ago!) her foot turned in a bit, so I needed to massage it frequently to stretch the muscles. I always started massaged, and ended up nibbling!

The Friday videos were always my favorite thing, I looked forward to them so much every week. I always called them Friday Night Videos after the program from the early 80′s that was the only way to see music videos if you didn’t have cable (and I’m dating myself, but not too many people had cable at the time). So darling! You are so fortunate to have so many videos of Maddie. Sadly when I had my first after years of infertility treatment and over a year of unemployment for both my husband and I, we didn’t have the money for a video camera. Our camera at the time took poor video and had no sound, but they are the ONLY videos I have of my little girl when she was a baby. It makes me sad. I have very few of my son as a baby as well for the same reasons.
Now I try to remember to take video of even the “boring” moments in their lives (when they are just coloring or doing something so simple it seems like it isn’t interesting to record, but how I LOVE to watch those videos just a year later and see how much they’ve changed.
You know first hand the value of all those photos and videos you took of Maddie, so I know you’ll do the same with Annie. I hope someone else reading here takes this as a suggestion to do the same with your own children! *hugs*
