i cried with joy for your family as i read this post - you're new daughter is so incredibly beautiful!! many, many congrats to you both. what a lovely family!

ten years ago, my big brother and his wife had a wonderful baby girl named sadie (the first grandchild in our family), who was born at full-term but with a previously unforeseen respritory aliment. she survived in the nicu for less than three weeks. a year later, they had another beautiful baby girl who they named madison, who i'm happy to say is thriving and enjoying life with her little brother kyler (they are 9 and 7.)

this post so reminds me of the fear and the joy my brother and my whole family experienced upon madison's risky birth, quite soon after their first child's passing. thank you so much for sharing your story with us all - it's is so touching and it's so clear you are really wonderful parents.

my most sincere wishes of happiness to you, in this incredible time with your brand new baby. she is nothing less than incredible.

congratulations, and cheers!

Found your blog randomly whilst googling..'pregnancy weight loss' LOL what a wake up call! I just gave birth Jan 11th 2010 to my first baby, a lovely boy named Anderson! Maddie is absolutely gorgeous and I really don't say that out of pity, what a pretty baby..and what a story, thanks for sharing it. Maddie looks so kind also, a real angel.. there's just something special about her from those pictures you've posted, it's strange... Congrats on Annie's birth, she's a real cutie... I've only read bits of your blog so far and touched upon Maddie's story. I'm looking forward to going through the archives over a cup of tea while my baby is sleeping! Might I add that this is such a well written, well put together blog..love the 'mamarazzi' section and so much more. Surely you must be writing professionally as part of your job or something...would love to know what you do for a living, because you have a real talent for writing. Enjoy Annie and thanks again for taking the time to share this with people...it was wonderful to see Maddie's beautiful face here and have her give me insight and perspective on life.
