Annabel Heads Home
On Sunday morning Annabel woke up in the hospital with her Mommy and Daddy, and from the look of things she was starting to feel real comfortable there.
Ready for her massage
Before long, however, she and Daddy tired of staring at the same four walls and went a little stir crazy!
Ready to go!!!
Mommy was ready to go too, so the three of them decided to blow that place…
Leaving the hospital
Annie wasn’t quite sure what to think of her first ride in a car seat…

…but she was much happier when she got home and tried out her bassinet.

She also really liked snuggling in her boppy.
After a while Annie decided to open her eyes so she could take a look around her new digs.

Something tells me she likes her new home just fine.

First off may I just say how AWESOME Heather is looking so soon after having surgery? I don’t look that good on a daily basis! The smiles on your faces says it all!
And Annie…well she is just perfect!
I know some will say that the smile in the last photo is just gas and not a real smile, but I beg to differ! When my son was in the NICU, the nurses told me that they had seen enough babies to realize that there WAS a difference between a “gas” smile and a genuine smile and that they believed that newborns instinctively smile when they are happy and contented.
That is definitely the smile of a happy baby! And how could it not be? She is a member of the most amazing family with the most amazing big sister and the most loving parents. Not to mention she has thousands of adoring fans already!

I agree wholeheartedly. When I would stroke my babies cheeks they would inevitably smile at an age when most would say they don’t and it’s “just gas”.

I couldn’t agree more!! My son smiled all the time as an infant- when he was swaddled, held, after nursing, etc. It was a tiny smile, but a real one!!

Oh that little smile, be still my heart. She looks like Maddie to me. And Daddy. Heather-isn’t that wonderful how they come out the spitting image of their daddy after all of OUR hard work, needle sticks, and vomiting.
I’ve heard it’s an evolutionary/biological thing, nature’s way of determining paternity so the dad will stick around. I always thought that was interesting. But I definitely see some Maddie in there too. I love her hair. You guys do indeed make some gorgeous children. Heather-I hope you’re healing well and if there were staples that they are out.

Here is a piece of unsolicited advice: use one of those very large pillows for breast feeding, not the Boppy. The back support you get from those is much MUCH better. I breast fed my son using a Boppy and my back hurt for a whole year. I am so much happier with my new pillow now that my daughter has been attached to my breasts for the most part of the last 5 months.
