On The Sixteenth
Three years ago I woke up to rain.
My friends came over and helped me get ready.
We hung out a little bit while we waited for the rain to clear.
When the rain stopped, we danced in the streets.
We stood in the shadows of famous buildings.
An a capella group from our college sang rock and Christmas songs (every wedding needs a capella Smashing Pumpkins)…
and a Fab Foursome sang us some classics.
We ate cake.
Did I mention the dancing?
We got married.
The rain that morning didn’t bother me at all.
We’ve had the for better. We’ve had the for worse.
We have each other.

That’s a lot going on in your lives for having being married only 3 years. I thought you guys were married longer as you two seem so in sync with each other. Of course, what happened to sweet Madeline will have had its impact. But as you wrote a while back: it made the bond stronger. A lot of marriages don’t last after the loss of a baby. WOW – You really nailed this entry!!! Many people often quote *for better or for worse” but they truly have no idea what it is like to experience the very Worse together.
The reason I come to your site on a daily basis, other then of course,to send you messages of support, love and friendships. Plus, b/c of my illness, I am often home a lot during the day. Reading & responding to you posts makes me feel less alone. I will ALWAYS appreciate you for that.

OMG! I was OK until I got to the end and saw the words, “we’ve had the better……..we’ve had the worse…….we have each other.” Then the tears just sprang into my eyes!
However you think of God, and I hope it is good, I pray buckets and buckets of blessings to be poured over all of you and Rigby too. Life is a journey and no matter what happens on this journey, there is a God and He is all good, and even though He asks us to hurt sometimes and to give up things we want badly in this life, He has a reason and it is usually 100% for our good.

Just in case you want to take another peek – the little girl preemie who was born to missionaries in Thailand, is doing better. She still has hydrocehalus and has to reach a certain weight before they put in a shunt. They recently took a bunch of pictures of her………
